At Indigo Exhibition in September, 1993, a chance meeting with an New York- based archive dealer led to the company's initial move into archive and documentary design. DJ, who had a long-standing interest in antiques and history, quickly developed a passion for this exciting area of surface pattern. The combination of the artistic and the historic has allowed DJ to indulge two areas of personal fascination, while providing a superb source of inspiration and reference to the discerning design director.
The intriguing business of locating and purchasing archive collections led to the equally exciting role of uncovering rare design books. This started out as the specific request by a client for a particular book. Discussing this with a colleague, led to an introduction to a book dealer, who advised me that he had read that the book was available as a lot at a book auction in Wiltshire. I entered into a bidding war by telephone for the publication. I won! Overnight I became a dealer in rare design books! This has developed into an area in which specialise. We will go the extra distance to find particular publications, and always carry a concise stock collection.
Furthermore, in order to provide a fully comprehensive service to our clients, we also carry a range of original studio designs of both a traditional and contemporary style. In this area we have embraced state-of-the-art technology to provide digital information and top quality design prints.
Our client base now extends to the four corners of the world! We travel to all North European countries, USA and Canada. Through trade exhibitions and distributors we work with clients in China, Korea, Taiwan, Russia, South Africa, India and Pakistan.
